The whole point of this month of preparation is to get our priorities in order. How we spend our time shows our priorities so this first step is quite possibly the most important. Your task today is to take a good look at that calendar and be sure the big things are there. If you are type A all the way, this could be a quick scan and check. But I would urge us all, types A,B and all the other letters, to pause and be sure the important things are there. Cross reference school calendars and work schedules or anything else that’s already established. Then pencil in the prospective things too. If it’s important to you while you’re thinking about it in October, go ahead and give it the spot on your calendar.
Plans can and will change but taking a moment to be sure you fill in the important things helps prioritize the whole season.
Here are a few things to fill in on the calendar
1. Your “tree day” whether you put up 19 trees, one teeny one, make a trip to the tree farm on the same day each year… decide your “tree day” and add it to the calendar
2. Christmas cards: if you send them add the day for pictures if needed and deadlines for ordering and getting them out
3. Rest time- be sure to factor in some down time to be able to enjoy all the little things and rest!
What's most important on your calendar?
