One Rug, Three Spaces

One Rug, Three Spaces

Let’s have a little fun. Kind of like a  design “who wore it better” but really more of a “something good can work everywhere/ we all win!” kind of thing. Maybe this is not your idea of “fun” but it is a great lesson in how things can look very different in different spaces.   If you follow on instagram, you may have seen my new Living Room rug. It was supposed to  go in the bedroom and inspire me but it ended up here and that’s ok because she and I are both very happy about it. But what...

Get your stuff done... for real people

Get your stuff done... for real people

It’s been a little busy lately. Nothing too crazy but when you’re an extreme introvert and need downtime to function, a heavy to do list can be very tiring. While I’m not trying to discount that, I think we can take it on a smaller scale too and celebrate the freedoms we have in our homes.  1. Freedom to do things our own way I spent some time with one...

Client Space: Guest Room

Client Space: Guest Room

There was just something really special about this space. The way the elements came together, the softness of the colors and texture, the soothing feeling it gives… My client has family all over the country so she wanted a guest room where they can feel welcome and comfortable. She has the very best style and a beautiful custom home but this room was a blank slate. Let's take a look at where it started. The antique bed and armoire stayed and the rest was a fresh start. Here’s what I did and why this design works.  1. Scale: 9 times out...
