One Room Challenge: Week One

One Room Challenge: Week One

Y’all. I have watched the One Room Challenge for years. It’s so much fun to see a space transform week by week. It’s also kind of my job to do this, but in my own home… well I pretty much  squeeze in a project here and there as time and budget allow (or any random time. I’ve been known to say “we’re leaving in an hour? I can paint this ceiling real fast!) I’ve thought about  joining the challenge as a guest participant a few times but it just never worked out (usually because I always seem to look...

Client Reveal

Client Reveal

It was time for a change. This bedroom was actually really well done and had beautiful  luxurious bed linens and custom window treatments but our client was tired of the dark and was ready to lighten and brighten… and lighten and brighten we did! Not because we have any ownership or have done any work or made any decision over it. But when you pull in the driveway, the feeling of being home is undeniable.   Part of it is the sweet, people who own the house… their spirit of generosity and hospitality is present...

One Rug, Three Spaces

One Rug, Three Spaces

Let’s have a little fun. Kind of like a  design “who wore it better” but really more of a “something good can work everywhere/ we all win!” kind of thing. Maybe this is not your idea of “fun” but it is a great lesson in how things can look very different in different spaces.   If you follow on instagram, you may have seen my new Living Room rug. It was supposed to  go in the bedroom and inspire me but it ended up here and that’s ok because she and I are both very happy about it. But what...
